Graffiti and BRM give road users a chuckle

Road users in Gauteng will struggle to keep a straight face when they encounter the newly-branded BRM delivery vehicles. Branded by vehicle branding and transit media specialist, Graffiti, the newly branded trucks sport a tongue-in-cheek new advertising campaign that pokes fun at non-meat eaters, whilst highlighting the deliciousness of the much-loved BRM meat products. click to enlarge click to enlarge
Created by Saatchi & Saatchi, the campaign features four different creative executions, each depicting an animal making a cheeky observation aimed at drawing attention to the meat producers popular rib and poultry products. In one variation, a sheep holding braai tongs comments, "Vegetarian? Too baaad!" whilst another portrays a chicken that quips "Vegetarian? Stop cluckin around!"

Commenting on the new transit campaign, BRM Brands Director, Jacques Talpert says, "The opportunity arose to develop a new transit ad campaign when we were looking to refresh the branding on our delivery vehicles. We wanted something that was clever and eye-catching and that gave the BRM brand a unique brand persona. The resultant campaign is irreverent and gets peoples attention and hopefully sets us apart from all the other food advertising that consumers are exposed to on our roads every day."

Adds Graffiti Director, Gavin Schlaphoff, "The BRM campaign is a fantastic example of maximising the use of the advertising medium. The company has used their existing delivery vehicles to create an exceptionally impactful, mobile out-of-home campaign that cuts through the clutter on the roads and definitely generates interest and a good few laughs too!"

BRM was so delighted with the resultant campaign that the company chose to utilise it to brand their premises in Honeydew North of Johannesburg. Plans are also underway for the campaign to be utilised as part of a street pole ad campaign with possible point-of-sale advertising to follow as well.

Ends Talpert, "Weve had a fantastic response to the branded vehicles - people have actually been taking photos of the branding. And weve had a large number of people letting us know that they have spotted the new-look vehicles on the roads - we never had that sort of response with our previous vehicle branding so clearly humour captures attention!"
